Sweet Nothings and Funny Pictures

Today was...exhausting! The kids wanted to swim, I wanted to sit down for 5 minutes, and the laundry...there's always laundry. (And no, it didn't get done today either!! That's what tomorrow is for!) I swear it was a full moon... all the crazies were out in force today! (Which makes for great reading at work, but getting nothing done because the phone is ringing off the hook!!) I did however get 1 pasta salad made, 36 deviled eggs filled, rocked my 2 year old to sleep..(don't even get me started on his sleeping habits!) opened all my mail and paid bills, and still managed to have a minute to blog! That's not bad! Oh, and I also took a few minutes to catch up on one of my favorite 1990's friends blog spot. Love her and miss her terribly! Always brings back fun memories! I still can't believe we actually graduated Seminary!! Good times!

I am heading to Arizona with the kids to relax with my parents and family in about 11 days. (I only know that because Bailey made a "count-down" calendar for Alex so he would stop asking us 200 times a day, "when are we going to Gram's house?!!" Alex and Luke are so excited they already have their backpacks full of goodies to take to Gram's house. Alex has actually been packed for about a week now! He cracks me up.

On Friday, we have been invited to Lagoon with some friends of ours. We are pretty stoked not just because it's FREE to get in, but we also get lunch too!! That's a pretty sweet deal. The kids are super excited too. We were just there a couple of weeks ago with my brother Jeff and his wife and kids. We had a great time and the kids are ready to go again. Funny... we don't go for years, and we are so lucky to be going twice in one month!! Kev has been super busy at work, so we are looking forward to having him all to ourselves on Friday.

Lastly, our house is pretty much done! (now we are ready to move..go figure!) We have done a lot of renovating over the past year and it's all complete! Kev has really worked hard. (Side note...I did help him shovel and move about 7 tons of rock, so I did put in my time too!!) Our list of accomplishments are:
1. Re-painted pretty much all the house
2. Laid new flooring on our main level, and in the bathrooms upstairs.
3. Painted all of our kitchen cabinets and bathroom cabinets
4. Re-lanscaped our whole front yard. (WOW, that was a big job, but we got it done!)
5. Kev put up a long awaited play set for the kids, which included a slide, 2 swings, and rings. (I am happy to report...no injuries as of date...knock on wood!)
6. Re-stained our deck.

We haven't lived in a house longer than 2 years.. this is our first. I am surprised at how much you have to keep putting into it to keep it looking nice. Now that everything is finished...it sure does look nice!

Ok, enough blabbing...here's some new pics of the kids!

Alex's funny face.

Bailey finally broke us down...we bought her a phone. (no camera though!!) It's a parents best barganing chip!!

Those are my shoes!!! He's always in my closet. Good thing he's all boy.. otherwise I might worry!
Yes..his finger is up his nose. (Which is pretty much where it is most of the time!!) The boys put sweet "Lion" tattoos on the stomachs and asked me to take a picture. They are still cute!!

They really do like each other!

Aren't my kids cute?!! We were taking cookies around to some of our neighbors tonight for Family Home Evening, (It was a stretch, but atleast we did something!!) and Bailey was up front and all the sudden Luke ran up and held Bailey's hand. Alex was walking with me, so I told him to run up and hold Bailey's other hand. This was the final product. I know my kids do really like each other! I am so proud of them. They actually walked like this for a few minutes up the road. It was definately an "ahhhhh" moment!

Burger King

After days of whining, begging, and finally earning it, I took the kids to Burger King. Alex and Bailey are both into collecting Pokemon cards and toys. So Burger King comes out with their Pokemon cards and toys. The kids saw the commercial for the Pokemon stuff and that was it. That's all I heard for days! I made them do chores and earn the trip. We finally went on Tuesday (which wasn't too bad for me because I didn't have to make dinner AND I got to read a few pages of my book while they were playing.) The kids had so much fun playing. We are very lucky that our kids play so well together. They had a great time. We had to run to Walmart afterwards, and they were so excited about their Pokemon toys that we got at Burger King, we didn't even go near the toy aisle or have anyone ask for a new toy. It was GREAT! I love my kids. They are so fun to hang out with and I love to see how they grow each day. I am grateful that they have a great relationship with each other too!

Swimmin'

We had some nice weather lately, so the boys begged me to get the swimming pool out. (Walmart..great buy!!!) The water was freezing, but it didn't stop the boys from getting in! (Bailey was having a sleep-over at our friends house.) Alex was so cold he didn't want to move, and Luke was just "chillin'". I even put my feet in!

Pirates...arrrgh

We were getting ready for bed and Alex found some of his pirate gear that we spent a fortune on at the Dollar Store!! The kids asked me to take some pictures of them. They turned out pretty funny, I thought I'd post them and share!! My kids crack me up with the shennanagans they come up and and the things that they say. I've heard that laughter is the best medicine. If that's the case, we should be pretty healthy for a while!

Funny Sunday Afternoon

We were outside this afternoon and the kids were playing. It was such a beautiful night and it really cooled off once the clouds rolled in. It was nice to sit outside with the kids while they were playing and just watch and listen....
We went to church this morning and Luke has had a bit of hard time going to Nursery. Today was my lucky day! With a bit of "trickery" I was able to slip out and he stayed in and played. He did GREAT!! He even learned a new song...Ring-A-Round-The-Roseys. He was singing away while they were outside playing. Then I heard the words he was saying. Instead of "Ashes, ashes, we all fall down", he was saying "Alex, Alex, we all fall down". It was so cute! They were chasing each other around and laughing. It was great to see them playing together!

Reactions!

Here's Luke's finger after getting bit by something. His hand swelled right up and Kevin had to take him to the InstaCare to have it checked. We still don't know what bit him, but it did a number on his finger! Thanks Benedryl! It looks much better today!

Alex broke out in hives after having an allergic reaction to using this Spider Man soap that comes out like shaving cream. Kids... gotta love them! (Or is it just boys?!!!)
I think we are good for a while!

Some of my favorite pictures!

CHEESE!! Luke being Luke.
Bailey is gorgous and she doesn't even know it!

Alex and his big blue eyes!
